On the morning of January 25, at the headquarters of Benthanh Group, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of Benthanh Group held a briefing meeting with grassroots Party Secretaries and Trade Union Presidents regarding the organization of Tet care activities for employees during the 2024 Giap Thin Lunar New Year. Attending the meeting were Tran Manh Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Nguyen Ngoc Chau, Member of the Party Committee’s Standing Committee and Full-time Member of the Members’ Council of Benthanh Group.
At the meeting, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Benthanh Group, Huynh Thi Phuong Nam, reported to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee on the Tet care programs organized by the Trade Union for union members and employees. These included practical activities such as the “Tet Sum Vay” program, the “Tam Ve Nghia Tinh” program, the “Xuan Yeu Thuong” charity booth, a rice donation program for 6,276 employees across the system valued at over 1.1 billion VND, and Tet gift donations for 240 disadvantaged union members and employees. Additionally, visits and Tet greetings were extended to employees working through Tet, as well as those returning to work on the first day of the new year. Gifts were also given to key trade union officials, and contributions were made to the City Labor Federation’s charity walk program, under the motto: “Tet for Every Union Member and Worker.”
Beyond the humanitarian value of these programs, which focus on supporting underprivileged workers, the Trade Union of Benthanh Group also coordinated with company management at grassroots trade unions to implement additional activities. These included Tet gift donations for 5,713 employees, year-end parties, lucky draws, and spring festivities for workers. Additionally, 14 dialogue sessions were held at nine units between trade union representatives and employers to negotiate Tet bonuses and salaries. Notably, 14 out of 21 units provided a 13th-month salary, with an average of 13.6 million VND, and an average Tet bonus of 25.5 million VND.
In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Tran Manh Ha affirmed that despite the challenging business conditions in 2023, union members and employees continued to receive care and support from the Party committees, business leaders, and trade union executive boards at all levels. This was achieved through labor conferences, listening to employee representatives, and improving employee policies at many companies. He acknowledged the efforts of business leaders in carefully balancing financial resources to increase employee income and enhance worker welfare.
