On May 26, the Trade Union of Benthanh Group, in collaboration with the Youth Union of Benthanh Group, organized the “Benthanh Group Workers’ Day” program as part of the activities for the 16th Workers’ Month in 2024 under the theme “Workers’ Solidarity – Implementing Resolutions.”
The event was attended by Nguyen Hoang Nam, a representative of the Propaganda Department of the City Labor Federation. On behalf of Benthanh Group, the attendees included Tran Manh Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Phan Tan Thao, Deputy General Director; Huynh Thi Phuong Nam, Chairwoman of the Trade Union; Pham Quoc Tuan, Chief of the Party Committee Office, Secretary of the Youth Union, Deputy Director of the Administration Department, along with more than 300 trade union members and workers from Benthanh Group’s system.
During the event, the Trade Union of Benthanh Group presented 50 “Thank You Workers” gift packages and 45 support gifts for low-income workers to trade union members and workers facing difficulties, encouraging them to overcome challenges in their respective enterprises. Additionally, the Trade Union awarded a “Trade Union Shelter” and provided support gifts worth VND 70 million to workers in particularly difficult circumstances.
At the event, workers participated in a Q&A competition to learn about the resolutions of trade union congresses at various levels through a multiple-choice format. They also witnessed the signing of a welfare program between the Benthanh Group Trade Union and Tuoi Mart Trading and Investment Co., Ltd., Binh Thanh Hospital, and the Viet Idea Training and Mental Care Center to support the well-being of workers within the system. On this occasion, employees received workplace safety training from Mr. Le Tu Quoc Hieu, a nationally certified first aid trainer and member of the City’s Disaster Prevention and Training Center, covering first aid skills for stroke incidents and electric shocks. Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Bui Thai Duc, a senior officer from the Advisory Department of the City Police, provided guidance on preventing online fraud and cybercrime.
Concurrently, enterprises within Benthanh Group organized more than 15 “Connection” booths to introduce products and services, enhance internal consumption, and contributed VND 23 million from booth revenues to the Nguyen Duc Canh Scholarship Fund for children of disadvantaged workers. Notably, the “Ao Dai of Love” program donated 90 ao dai dresses and three sets of fabric to female workers in need. Employees also participated in the “For Workers’ Health” program, which included four activities: color Doppler ultrasound screening for thyroid abnormalities, basic blood clotting tests for stroke prevention, eye disease screening, and mental health assessment and care.
The program aimed to express gratitude and appreciation for workers’ efforts in production and labor, supporting them in overcoming difficulties and challenges. On this occasion, the Trade Union actively promoted initiatives for workers’ health and well-being while protecting their legitimate rights and interests in a practical and meaningful manner.
