On July 30, Benthanh Group held the 21st Expanded Executive Committee Conference of the Party Committee – Mid-Year Review of 2024 Operations at Vien Dong Hotel (10th Floor, 275A Pham Ngu Lao, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1).
The conference was attended by representatives of the Party Committees under the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee responsible for Party affairs at Benthanh Group, along with members of the Executive Committee, the Inspection Committee, and heads and deputy heads of the Party Committees and mass organizations.
During the conference, 14 new personnel were introduced to key positions, including the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, capital representatives, appointed officials, and members of the Supervisory Board at enterprises with capital contributions from Benthanh Group.
According to the report, in the first half of 2024, the total system-wide revenue was estimated at VND 12,813.6 billion, achieving 42.7% of the annual plan and marking a 6.7% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The estimated system-wide pre-tax profit was VND 326.7 billion, reaching 38.6% of the annual plan, up 4.4% year-on-year. Revenue growth was recorded in 19 out of 26 enterprises, while others experienced a decline.
Regarding leadership and direction, the review and analysis of 2023 business performance and the 2024 business plan for enterprises with Benthanh Group’s capital contributions were implemented from Q1, ensuring effective guidance for capital representatives and appointed officials in providing input and voting at annual general meetings. The assessment of Party organizations and members in 2023 was proactively and effectively conducted in line with the schedule set by the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee. The review, evaluation, and appointment of officials managed by the Standing Committee of the Party Committee were completed ahead of schedule, facilitating the planning and appointment processes. The development of work plans and programs adhere to timelines, with content tailored to the Group’s operational realities. Employee welfare remained a priority, with attention from Party Committees, trade unions, and business leaders, ensuring basic support for workers despite financial challenges faced by certain enterprises.
On the same day, the conference approved the working regulations of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Benthanh Group – One-Member LLC (Term V, 2020 – 2025) in compliance with Decision No. 147-QĐ/TW, dated May 14, 2024, issued by the Party Secretariat. These regulations define the roles and responsibilities of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Standing Party Committee, as well as the duties and powers of Executive Committee members, Standing Committee members, the Secretary, and the Deputy Secretary. They also outline principles, working mechanisms, and coordination processes.
Discussions at the conference focused on personnel matters, capital representation, and appointed officials at Benthanh Group; personnel preparations for Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 6th Party Congress of Benthanh Group (2025 – 2030); the progress of investment projects; employee welfare; youth and leadership development programs; and updates on the organization of the Party Congress of Benthanh Group.
In his concluding remarks, Comrade Phan Van Quang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Members’ Council, emphasized key priorities: accelerating the completion of business plans; ensuring the effective exploitation and commercial operation of Phase 1 of the Benthanh Ho Tram project while finalizing legal procedures for Phase 2; proactively preparing for equitization once approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; maintaining strict oversight of business performance; continuing the implementation of the Inspection and Supervision Program and the Anti-Corruption and Negative Practices Program for 2024; and striving to meet key targets to successfully fulfill the resolutions of the 5th Party Congress of Benthanh Group (2020 – 2025).
